Hi!

Just wanted to introduce myself, a new owner to a xciting 500 since a week.

My two-wheeled career started with a Peugeot Elyseo 1oo cc:

The little Peugeot I took for a 1200 mile ride around the Gulf of Bothnia in 2006, picures from the trip can be seen here: http://web.comhem.se/stephan.dorsch/scooter/index_en.htm

Then a short Chinese adventure with a Jonway 250, which was 100% unreliable in many ways, and had to go back to the retailer.

After that that i wanted to try a real bike,  a Honda CB Sevenfifty, but after 300 miles, I figured out that "real" bikes where not for me!

So now I getting acquaintaned with an easy-going xciting 500, and after 200 miles our relationship seems to grow in the right direction, future will tell:

Anyway, nice to be here!

Welcome from the congested Central Europe!

Have made only one trip through Norge, Suomi and Sverige, I was very impressed.
Unfortunately my family doesn't like the "wild" and lonesome nature.

In your country I had an experience with your police which is nearly impossible in our country:

I wanted to visit the moose farm, but didn't knew the exact location. So I asked for the way at the police station in village.
The entry door was open - not closed and armored. No bell or speaker or guard.
On the corridor some doors were open too. I took the next open door, knocked and looked into. The desk was empty.
But I heard a noise, checked around the open door and found the officer behind at the coffee machine.
He was very pleased having the chance to explain the way.

I arrived at the moose farm, but unfortunately it was closed this day.
And suddenly a police car arrived too. Huh!?
The officer appologized for not mentioning the moose farm had their closed day. But he collected more information material from the tourist office with different sight seeings etc., gave it to me and wished me a nice stay.

In my live I had met many polite police men. But never a police station with wide open doors and never an officer which might be police and tourist manager in one person!

Thanks!

Yes I believie the windscreen is original, I bought the Xciting second hand
but all windscreens on the Xcitings for sale look the same as mine.

The bike has a slight wobble if I take my hands of the handlebar at about 40 mph,
it probably needs new steering head bearings, I have a time at the workshop
in a couple of weeks, otherwise I just love to ride the Xcting 500. :)

A lot of scooters tend to shimmy if you take hands off the handlebars. It also depends on the weights on the handlebar and whether you have a topcase or not.
