..could be that you need stiffer clutch springs...

Sounds like the new belt may be slightly longer to me. The 2000 contra should help take off if anything tho it may be too stiff to get to top speed, at least it was on my A50. Think theyre too stiff for a 50cc 4t, 1500 seems to be the stiffest that works on them.
Chaos is my co-pilot.

The belts do take a few miles to bed in usually, at least mine always feel as if they do, after 50-100km or so mine feel ok.

The 2000 clutch springs may be ok to use, what scoot do you have?

It does sound like your new belt is longer if you gained 7mph on it. I used to run a 736mm belt when stock was 729mm, that gave me similair gains to what you got, thats why i think it may be a little longer on yours.
Chaos is my co-pilot.

How much wider is the new belt? For proper fit it Must sit at or equal to the top of the rear pulleys, and Tight on the drive boss. Any other fit is wrong. I believe trading the spring will fix it tho...

..trial and error...tuning...is the key to success...

..just today, i've had my clutch completely disassembled 4 times...changed the drive belt, swapped torque drivers, and installed 5gram sliders in blace of 5.7....

..and it's better than when i started...

Start taking the yellow ones when that urge hits you. They work.

I stole a gum ball machine from the Shriner's Club, and keep it full of the yellow ones next to my desk.
