Calling Cortez
« on: July 24, 2012, 03:39:51 PM »
Some friends are heading to Dubrovnik and Split next year and want  to rent scooters somewhere and tool around the cities or countryside a little.  Do you know of a place that can accomodate them?

Many thanks in advance.

What!

Oh, hi!  ;D

That's some considerable distance from me, but I got people who I can ask.
It gets crowded down there, but scooter rental places are everywhere, and
scoots always scattered around the streets, usually close to the coast line.

I'll send a couple of e-mails and see if I can get a recommendation.
Most of them actually have Kymco scoots  ;D but 90% of them is just
50cc, if that matters.

Can you tell I had no sleep last night?

I just figured out you need a place to stay, not the scoots.  ;D

I got 2 places to recommend, lemme make you a map.

[..10 minutes later..]

Lookie here:

1st place is in Vodice, which is not really what you asked for, but not that far away
and is owned by a good friend of mine, closed-off parking space for scoots, probably
not that expensive either.

2nd place is near Makarska in a place called "Bratuš", look it up on google maps, it's
near Promajna, and exactly half-way between Split and Dubrovnik.

I was there just 2 weeks ago (also headed for Dubrovnik). Great accommodations,
A/C, very clean and looks new. The owner is a scoot rider too, think he said he's
got 9 apartments there, some are bigger then others (more then 1 room).

It's a long (slow) ride to Dubrovnik from there, but 125cc+ is enough since the
traffic is rather slow if you go along the coastline.

Lemme know when the time comes, I'll hook you up with the owners.

Thanks for the response.  I was just talking to them this weekend when they mentioned they were headed to Croatia, but it is not supposed to be until early May so about 8 months or so, but I will forward the info and can try to find you here or ADVRider.

Be well.

No problem!

I'm the same nickname on ADVrider so..

p.s. A lot of scooter rentals don't work that "early", but accommodations will be easy.

EDIT: I got a recommendation for this scooter/motorcycle rental place in Dubrovnik: http://www.brabel.hr/
