..yeah, i hit upon some big trouble last evening...

..left work, and rode maybe 5 city miles..heard the awefullest noise at a stoplight...

..scoot running fine, just noisy as fuk!!!..kinda vibrating with revs...

How about bypassing the mechanical pump, and going electric. It think that is MUCH more reliable, and less drain on the engine.
As far as posting failures... I let you know if I ever have one.    NOT! I'd be here for days typing.

Can you get access to assemble it, and drive a roll pin thru both pieces? Maybe two pins at 90* spacing? I'm thinking just a 3/8" hole in the cover to drill, and drive in a 1/4" pin or two

Scoot was new.. battery discharged... tried kick start a zillion times.... wont start.... posted problem in forum.... zombie replied.... ah, ok... I learned that my CDI is DC fired and will never start without a good battery... good learning....   

I immediately required all our retail stores (22 of them in the metropolis) to carry motorcycle batteries (we sell car accessories)  ::) ::) ::)  Lol! now, i can get a new battery anywhere if I need one. Self serving? Naaah!! ;D

..no, the hex shaft fits into the flywheel nut, which is hex, like a allen head screw...

..the nut is recessed...no access...

If you wanted to repair it cheap, drill a hole in the pump shaft end perpendicular to the shaft, insert a cold roll pin, then cut a slot on the flywheel nut for the cold roll pin to fit in.  This will not be a very long lasting or reliable repair, but will get you out of a pinch if you need to.  Of course, the right way is to get the new parts but those are some parts that Kymco is kinda proud of.  Is it something you could make at work?

Only to you... I dont know what you would do with a slot when the best way is in a hole but who am I to say what you may prefer. Id make it a hole

...in this case, there is no way to drive a pin thru a hole in the nut, sssso...

..slotting the nut, and inserting the shaft with a pin already installed seems to me to be the oly way that it COULD work....
