I was visiting my sister there and did not got to the race. I did see where Kymco was the Official Scooter for the race series. That's pretty cool. Should give them good exposure.
Ride back on Monday was wet, wet, wet. We left in a break in the rain and did not make 5 miles before the next wave hit. Since we were heading south we hit it head on. Rain varied from steady to very heavy from Indy to just north of Scottsburg, IN. The Givi did a good job of keeping the rain out of my face. Not much protection for my hands. Wet gloves (should have remembered to put some exam gloves on the scoot, now they will be under the seat with the rain suit), otherwise it did well. Good protection for your feet so with good boots and the protection my feet stayed dry. Only thing that got wet was my hands and gloves. I ran along on US 31 even in the heavy rain at 45 or 50, mainly due to reduced visibility. Stock tires gave me no trouble on the wet roads. The rain did not seem to faze the scooter. The angle of the windshield and a good wax job helped it to shed the water, so it stayed mostly clear, except for what blew around onto the back side. Instruments and lights ok, no water got under the seat or in the top box, no problem with the CVT or drive system. Seems it did pressure wash the bugs off.
Good trip, even in the rain it was fun... we are ready to try another trip next weekend or so. Now only to decide where to go...
