black with red stripe wire
« on: August 03, 2012, 10:01:18 PM »
I swapped a zx50 engine onto a 89 elite engine earlier, havent ran it yet as Im debating to do some other mods while its down. My question is on the engine harness coming from the zx50 engine it has a black wire with a red stripe coming off of it. What does it go to? its a bullet style connector that goes into the harness loom on the other side, but is connected to the engine harness bundle side. Im leaving it off just wondering if its a ground or what.

The Black/Red wire should be A/C power supply from the stator to the CDI.

Ah interesting, I had the wrong wire on wire, some reason I connected the blue and white wire to my honda red with black, too many people around talking to me about this or that when I was obviously busy lol. I didnt have this issue with my AF16 on it. Im going to have to research it more or just go try to start it lol. i have so many other things going on I havent even tried to start it after the swap. Thank you for the info!
