Bogs while "shifting"

Just curious what this could be. The CVT will get some much needed attention very soon when my parts come in, but what do you think? Around 30mph when she "shifts", there is a noticeable bog/hesitation. Just curious. Thanks

..well, ideally...there should not be a "shift" around 30, if you're wanting quickest to top speed...


....what are your rpms at initial take-off...a lag, or high rpms...where do the rpms go to when it shifts...how long does it take you to get to @8500+.....

..and, i apologize rage, but what is your scoot..oem..kitted...cvt setup..

2002 Super 9 LC. Stock, derestricted. It takes off ok, jumps to 7k rpm. Holds it there till 30, the drops to 6k rpm. Once past 7k rpm again it screams to 50 at 9k rpm.

Lighter rollers, and or heavier spring in the torque drive.

I was more curious because there never was a bogging before..... it would hold 7k rpm until end of powerband.

Do I grease this? And what side  of the spring does it go on?

..never grease any clutch part!!

..the only areas that grease should be applied to in your driven pulleys is the torque driver, which is sealed by o-rings to keep grease from escaping into clutch...


..i believe the yellow spring bearing sits on "top", inside the clutch...

When you take your varaitor out look to see if the slide-guides for the back plate have worn down.  Once it's out, hold the back plate and twist it in the varaitor.  Check to see if the back plate is making contact with the varaitor.  You may even see some metal has been removed from the inside of the variator.  I have had this happen with Malossi Multivars on a Super 9 and a People, both kitted.  If that back plate makes contact while it's traveling in and out, it will do exactly what you described
