While I wait for a reply from Kymco's customer service I decided to try moving the oil around in the forks. With the front brake engaged I gently fully depressed and released the front forks about two dozen times. It definitely reduced the spring sound.
I think that most of the things in this thread are simple imagination of newbies. For most of you this is your first 2-wheeler, right?
No forks work without a sound and it is normal to hear "compression" sound.
Depressing and releasing forks two dozen times does nothing because forks do that in 200 meters of covered road.
If your forks are performing correctly, most likely everything is fine and forget about sounds.
