Changing the Engine Oil

I bought a used 2011 super 8 50 2t  with 2000 miles on it. I want to change the engine oil to the synthetic amsoil interceptor.

Is there anything I should do because the oil in it now would mix with the synthetic oil if I just poured it in there. Do I have to clean/drain the old engine oil?

I'd drain the tank just to be safe, or run it down a bit then drain it.

I switched to Dominator back in July. I drained the Spectro that I had in the tank and filled her up.

Do you know what oil is in it currently?

Its called quick silver premium 2 cycle outboard oil. It seems bad to me. I live in maryland.

Once I drain it im set. ANd thats the bolt on the bottom right?

EDIT: I actually really don't know where to drain it. Do you know where it is? Any pictures.

I used a turkey baster to remove most of the old oil out of my people 50 . I really like the Amsoil interceptor oil . Good luck .

No, there is no drain plug.  you can pull the hose that feeds the carb and drain it there but using a syringe to drain it. is much easier and less messy.

Are you talking about gasoline or oil.  It sounded like oil if you are switching to synthetic.  I never heard of synthetic gasoline.  I have a Yager but yours must have an oil drain plug.  Yes, it should be the bolt on the bottom.  You don't take oil out with a turkey baster, you drain it.  Then you replace it through the dipstick.

im talking about the oil. I figured out the bolt on the the bottom was for the gear oil and not the engine oil. So im guessing its not there. This is the 2t by the way so maybe its different?

Just do as my post 2 above. Under your seat is the oil injector tank. Do the syringe trick to drain it as best you can then ad your new two-stroke oil into that tank (reservoir).
You have no drain plug or dipstick.

I took the whole luggage compartment off and then unhooked the hose from the bottom of the oil reservoir. I then placed a cool whip bowl under the reservoir to catch the oil.

Thanks for the advice. I just drained by taking out the tube.

My problem now is that when i took out the tube the oil strainer (filter) little thing came off and I don't know which way it should point. Should the pointy part of the oil strainer smaller part(taper) point towards to the tube or the oil tank. I'm worried that the way I reinstall it might clog the oill line if i dont do it correctly.


Also, are there any indicators to if I blocked the oil line. (would the oil light come on?)

Ha! I was maxing out at 27mph by the time my belt came in. Now I'm back to 33ish. I'm frustrated and thinking I need heavier weights to get more top end. All I want is 40mph... I can cruise at 33mph at 1/4 throttle or full throttle, it makes no difference.

9gram weights, 90 jet and get 38 GPS normally.  The same scoot in Germany get 50 mph with the same setup. Not sure where the difference is.

kymco recommanded 15w40 engine oil 0.8l if you change it
and you should change every 2000 km
