my opinion is that the white spring is still not stiff enough. I wanted to put a shim in there but there wasnt enough room. i am still not getting the stall i want out of the hole.

We talk alot about the secondary spring and roller weights....how about the wet clutch assembly itself. Seems like that is a good place to alter stall speed too.

Have any of you guys looked in that area? Could we lighted the clutch weights there (or would you make them heavier...I get confused on that one?)

The only thing that is going to help with your stall is put in lighter weights and put in stiffer springs in the centrifical part of the clutch same as the yammi's , some Cats, suzuki.  The secondary has nothing to do with the stall that section controls the shift pattern of the transmission.

Yeah.....thats the part I am talking about. The main clutch, which is behind the primary (behind the drive pully and rollers) . Looks like there are 9 bolts that hold on the clutch housing and the centrifical clutch is behind it.
The service manual does not go into any detail about the springs and weights (although it shows them in an exploded view) only inspects the clutch shoes for wear.

Be nice to get inside there and play around with the weights and springs. I don't have the expertise to dive into that area (ok I am chicken)....maybe one of you guys will ;)
I wonder if EPI has weights and springs for the main clutch ( I have only seen roller weights and torque springs).

played with that alot with out getting the results i was looking for. all that does is raise the stall. i am looking for a consistant pull from bottom to top. i am almost there. Robey keep cutting those clutches its not going to work!!! we do not have the power as a prairie to handle the degree changes when cutting them. also our machine suffers from lag that is why i am playing with the secondary spring to make it more consistant. you can ask epi/dalton or any clutch person it is serious testing time. and it all changes when you change tires. 23 inch - 25 - 26 inch . also factor in tire weight for rotating mass. i am running fronts all the way around this year. if you think about it you really dont need the wieght and with of the rear tire.

Your right on one thing it will raise the stall but will slow the upshift which will allow more pull down low and threw the mid range + it will backshift quicker for you in the woods and better throttle response.

Jon....Hey glad to see you on here.

I am trying to get  a set of the a-arms and front shocks that the guys racing are using...then maybe I'll think about racing the beast. Of course I would strip to racks and remove the winch for racing ....that would help a ton.

Do they (sorcs) race at Aonia Pass and BroadRiver? I want to at least get my son into one of them.

Hey Jordan....I won't be making it to Steele Creek (Although I would love to be there). That weekend is my birthday (I'll be turning 26...ok.....36.....huh...ok....keep going...... ;)) and I have some other plans.

Do you think it will be as muddy and tough as it was here at Washington, GA.?
That place was like how it is where I ride at BroadRiver (wet/muddy/treacherous trails, etc)....I can imagine how it was out there in the race...

JR Motorsports (who posted up above) is the dealer I bought my Kymco's from....he (Jon) has been after me to come out and race my 500. I am thinking about it.....
