Boss drive and CDI
« on: June 03, 2009, 03:27:41 AM »
Hi guys! i recently got my kymco people 50 and i love it! i know the boss drive is restricted and i have emailed a couple of shops in my vicinity. since i did not get a reply yet i thought i would ask here is anyone had a spare unrestricted boss drive (the one without the shoulder) for this model. Thank You!
also, if anyone knows if there is a form of restriction (rev limiter) in the cdi of the 2009 model and if so how to deactivate it (splice some wires  ::) or just buy a deristricted one)
Thanks again for your future posts.

P.S i hope this forum is still alive.

you can order the cdi directly from Suitai in tiawan. they are the manufacture of the stock restricted unit. they will program to your specs. ie. timing curve, rev limit, for a stock cylinder/piston, i would mirror the stock ign. curve and have the limiter set to 12,500. it will take about 2 weeks to ship, and is cheaper than any other supplier. i suppose cause they build it.

Burlington Yamaha of North Carolina is a great place to get Kymco Parts.  They also have great service!  Check them out.

I havent tried burlington, and will look them up! SUITAI manufactures the cdi for kymco, and the have the specs., ie. timing. the unit is 49.99, and shipping from tiawan is 9.50. On the plus side you also have a 90 day warranty. even kymco usa will not do that.  SUITAI.COM
