Ok, will pick up a few different sets and play around with them. Sucks I can't use that spring tho. Thought the 1500 spring would be ok with a stock setup. Another question, does it matter which way the rollers are installed? One side has more of a lip than the other...... Thanks again.

..you CAN use that spring...put the 1500 back in and try 7.5 rollers...

..put the more solid side of the roller to the left, if installing on the "top" roller slot in the variator...

..it's all about getting into the good rpms...

..all about tuning to the pipe...

..but keep in mind, that once you install a 1500 contra, which s9lc scoots just seem to lloovvee, you probably going to need to stiffen the fly springs, in order to take full effect of the increased tension ...

..people keep shouting heavier rollers..it's never worked in my scoot, and nina jumps to 9000 and hovers there till i start to approach 55mph..

..now, she does have a pipe and filter, buti still remember 8200+ being a strong powerband when she was oem...

..get you some 9.5 and some 7.5 and give them both a try..i'll buy the 9.5s if you find you dont need them..

Compare the new belt to the old belt next time your in there. The size indicated on aftermarket belts is not always correct.

Thanks for the quick replies. The belts are identical model #.  Other than the original being worn.,I did not try the 1500 spring without that yellow cap yet tho. I will try that soon also.

Just read again what u wrote. Will hold both belts together next time I crack her open. I did check that they were the same width.... The old one being about 2mm less wide, from being worn.

Just run the magic marker test to see. Did you keep the OEM sleeve inside the spring? I had to cut mine shorter using the Malossi torsion control.

I didn't cut anything..... Would I hear a scraping? How do I know if I need to cut it? By the marker test?

..yeah, do the 1500 WITHOUT the malossi yellow thingy...

..that yellow thingy probably takes that up to a 1600-1650...

Yes. The sleeve will bottom out if it is installed with the torsion controller, blocking the td from opening all the way. Marker will tell you.
