Actually, I haven't got it in yet. It appears to be identical to the OEM though. I was going to work on that later tonight.

Looks as if I'll have to make an adapter to get it to fit, bit in theory, it should work as long as it is sealed.

I have been trying to figure out an aftermarket cage altogether rather than just changing reeds, but I haven't met much success in finding other's dealings with one that fits the sf10 engine. Please keep the updates coming (and good luck!)

Still, I find more to do to this scoot. It has been my winter ride. I finally got in a Stage6 primary gear kit. I also bought a different clutch, also Stage6. I never could get my other one set just how I liked it. I'll report back on how things go after I get it all done. Well...will it ever be "all done"? I guess that is the real question. No luck with the reeds. Looked at fashioning a new cage and spacer, but no luck.

I haven't been working on the Kymco a whole lot lately. I have the Aprilia dialed in at a good 65mph on flats, it makes the Kymco a nice cruiser. As for an every day commute, highway speeds feel much safer. I'll be plenty happy if I can ever get the Like up to speeds like that.

It's finally warm enough to break it out for the year. It's getting a whole new top end and other spring maintenance goodies. It still runs great, and I have had nearly no issues with this build in its current form. I'm looking forward to see what everyone starts pulling out from their winter builds. It's going to be a good year :)

I have a 112 in it right now for the main. I have never changed the idle jet. It seems to be ok where it's at. If it's not broke, don't fix it right? I may tinker with the idle jet some this summer though. I'd like to get a little more off the line. For the main, I've not noticed much difference between the 108 jet and the 112 I have now, but I think the plug looks a little better at the 112. I had a 98 and a 100 before that, and they were both obviously lean with the pod filter.

Added a windshield. It doesn't seem to affect the top speed at all. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but on low beam at night the glare from the headlamp was terrible. With this, it has completely eliminated the glare. I got caught in a brief shower on my way home the night that I got it on. I stayed nearly completely dry. I think I'm going to like this.

Next on my list...The Kymco crash bar kit and fender kit.

Very nice!

Im trying to find some stickers; only malossi sends em to me. I really want a Dell'Orto one.

I've heard about issues with the glare on the forum but haven't experienced it myself. Looking pretty euro with that windshield :)

I spent some time this last weekend with putting some TLC back into the motor. I just recently re-honed the jug, and put a new piston in it. The old one was still just fine for the 1500+ miles of life it had on it. Malossi makes great jugs.
New bearings, new reeds, new gaskets. When I had the intake off, I polished (inside) it and smoothed the lip of the adapter from the carb adapter and intake. I completely rebuilt the carburetor and put on a new filter. At 50+ (pegged) I still have plenty of throttle left. I'm afraid to push it really hard, because over 10K RPM, I worry that it is going to throw itself to pieces. It would probably be fine, but I don't want to see my work ruined. It's great for cruising town at a much more reasonable 30-40 mph. I have also cleaned all the stickers off of it, and it looks much cleaner than it did. Maybe some pinstriping in the future? Also, I'm trying to hunt down the chrome crash bar set for this. I hope to run across one second hand.

Edited to say:

This speed is on the flat with no wind.

My last run of the day with the Like at Twist and Gone last year. I may not have won anything, but I also didn't break anything. I was in the wrong class to be competitive. Should have been in the 70cc class instead of the 72cc+ class. Lesson learned. I'm also faster now than I was then, so this year will be better I hope.

What is the current set up? I haven't read the thread yet.

It sounds like the clutch locks up a little late, and you can certainly use a sh** load more rpm's.
I had the hardest time dialing in the stage6 clutch w/ the gears. Once I got it though it made all the difference.

I noticed on this page you stated 10Krpm. I retarded my Ign. to 2*btdc at 14K. Your engine is capable of 14k easy.
If you are interested I have a spare HPI Programable CDI, and Magneto. All you would have to get are the stator/charging coil, mounting kit, and the dongle for programing the CDI. As I remember those parts cost under 100.00. I'll sell the stuff I have for 1/2 of whatever retail is. It's never been used but I did program the CDI to confirm it was good.  http://www.hpi.be  https://www.treatland.tv/HPI-CDI-ignition-s/438.htm

Way cool bike. Makes me want to play w/ mine again... almost!
