700 Soon?
« on: August 25, 2012, 12:05:43 PM »
Read in a cycle mag that the 700 was due in USA in or around oct? It was mentioned in a story of someone who was touring over sea's. Don't know who told him this? It does not say. :-*

That's really strange as someone posted that they talked to a Kymco rep, and he stated that it would be here soon. I have found over the years that importers will not disclose any info until the bike is in country? Why the surprize? What's the big secret? I would want to let people know when it is comming, so that if a person was looking at a big scoot like the Burgers, T Max S wings and so on, they may want to wait until the K 700 comes in to make up their mind then? In the article that I read, if I remember right, the writer got the bike for the test/ride from Kymco? So I would think the info came from Kymco? :-*

My dealer wants me to buy one and said they will have them in around March of 2013.

I wonder if they'll redesign the headlights by then.  I really think it looks ugly from the front.

This report was from someone writting about the 700 wile touring in Taiwan. So he must have talked to Kymco as he got the bike from there? Yes, from the pics in the mag, it is very ugly from the front. It would have to be a great bike for me to buy it. I don't know if I could get past the looks. I normally don't care about looks so much, as I do about comfort, ride, dependability ect, but damn it is UGLY. :( :-*

As I said in another area of this forum, the word is the next six months which means by July, or August of 2013.  Keep your fingers crossed.

I thought Kymco was making BMW's new scooters and possibly they have some sort of deal so
they don't infringe on BMW's sales? They might never bring them here.

700cc's is big! I'm not sure how big you can go with a CTV before durability of the belt becomes
a problem. I guess some cars have them and there is an 850 out there. Who's going to be the first
to break 1000?

The 850cc your referring to is made by Aprilia which is owned by Piaggio who also owns Vespa. The most one can get from Apriilia is their 500cc bike for the U.S. market. The 850ccs are available in Europe.

I wonder why they are making such big bikes for europe?
They pay around $10 per gallon over there and usually are
economy minded...

If you lived here, that price of fuel would be normal. You just have to earn more.  ;D

Well MPG's are of great interest to me. A 250 and above scooter starts getting poor mileage.

That 700 probably gets around 35 MPG, my car does that! Of course some people around here
drive those big 2 ton trucks with the dual wheels getting around 10 MPG's and they complain
every week that they're spending too much on fuel while I toot around in my Honda FIT getting
35 - 40 MPG's ...
