Kymco battery/electrical problem
« on: August 31, 2012, 02:32:03 PM »
Hi!

I have browsed thread in this forum pretty long without being registered, but today i finally signed up, because i have big problem with my kymco.

Yesterday i put my battery to my friends scooter, because his battery was empty. His scooter didn`t started with my battery too, so i put my battery back and noticed something was wrong, my scooter didn`t work from electrical starter and it didn`t show fuel level too. I thought okey, but i have kickstarter, i tryed and it worked...But if i started driving it made very interesting buzzing sound, it was pretty annoying, but i had to drive 5 km to home, so i did.
Next day i saw that my kymco didn`t still worked from electrical starter, so i used kickstarter and i noticed there wasn`t any buzzing sound. But when i try to use horn, it makes very weird noise and if i want to use turn signals, they were making buzzing sound like yesterday and they didn`t work, only lights work as good as usual. My battery should be full, but i try to put it on charger today. Also i don`t know is this issue related to this battery/electrical problem but my kymco died 2 times yesterday in middle of road, which has never happened before.
Today i investigated my kymco further and it seems like near battery there were two wires , green and pink/red, they joined with big battery wire, pink one was disconnected, i connected it but it didn`t seem to make any difference, it made some little how i say... buzzing , weird sound too.

I know it`s long text, but if only one person would help me i would really appreciate it.

If you have a test meter then see what voltage is in the battery, it may just be empty or damaged from your friends scoot?

Are you 100% sure you reconnected the battery wires correctly when you put it back in your scoot?

Since the battery and battery wires is the only thing you have touched then it must be one of those things, unless it is just an unlucky co-incidence and something else has gone wrong, prob is the battery or wires tho.
Chaos is my co-pilot.

The buzzing sound reminds me of the buzz you will get from the flasher relay when the battery is low.

I`m gonna check for voltage test meter in my garage today, i had this thing about a year ago, but i don`t know if i gave it away, or it`s still there. Gonna post results here if i find it.
