How often do you replace your battery in Venox 250?

Hubby and his Venox are at odds this week.
It seems the battery won't hold a charge.
He is getting a new battery tomorrow, but was a bit ticked that the one in it was purchased last summer.
How long do cycle batteries normally last and will a battery tender help alleviate the issue?
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body. But rather to skid in broadside , thoroughly used up , totally worn out and loudly proclaiming "WOW, what a ride!!"

Hi Carol,

Battery life depends where you live (climate). Usually lasting between 3-5 years.

If you had to replace a new battery within 12 months, then there might be a few things to consider;
1. Batteries hate the cold - it reduces their charge.
2. It maybe a faulty battery.
3. Maybe a faulty alternator/A.C. generator

I've posted a few pages of the Venox service manual, all the pages I could find relating to the battery.

Hope this helps.

I agree with Paperkrain.  Additionally, I have had my '05 Venox for almost three years and i've put two new batteries in it. The guy that I bought it from said he put a new battery in it the year before I bought it. I replace the stator (or generator), that didn't fix my problem, then I replaced the voltage regulator and that WAS the problem. I bought a battery charger at walmart to charge the battery, but it still dies if it sits over winter.  I took it to a bike shop and they said my charger won't even touch the battery, so they charged it for me and I haven't had any battery issues this summer and I ride about 250 miles per week.

battery has to stay charged during the winter, or one month without use. take it out in winter and keep it topped up every week or hook it up to a trickle charge. as for standing for more then two months charge it to full before riding again, it will put less effort on the regulator.
if you have a battery thats left over the winter and close to normal functional parameters then change one and keep the new one in check. a battery is way cheaper then a regulator.
