I can tell you the only difference between the Avon, and the Pirelli's is the sidewall. The compounds feel the same or so similar I couldn't tell them apart. The difference is sidewall strength. I rode a Pirelli flat for a few days without knowing it. On the REAR tire. When I went into the shop to fill it one of the guys that hangs around started to laugh... He admitted emptying my new tire as a joke a few days before, and forgot. I punched his nutz so hard it hurt my hand. The joke got alot funnier then.
Point is I like the Diabalo's better. Stiffer but same grip. Wear I don't know yet. The Avon's lasted a full year pluss some. The front is as good as new, and the rear is worn but not completely. I had to patch a hole in it so I just kept it as a spare, and got the Diabalo's
