Id just assume someone who rode and worked on their own motorcycle at age 5 would understand the concept of tolerances, especially a "race seasoned" master tuner. I personally dont think luck has anything to do with logistics, if theres 2 forces squeezing apart the same amount of force over a given predetermined length, theres going to be heat and eventually a bind or break. Something has to give. Sissy is trying to teach you something but you dont want to hear it.

Ill definitely say these engines seem to like higher rpms with out provocation. My friends 500 changes with the weather it seems.

Thank you LoveMyKymco. Changing weights are one thing, but changing the size of a roller will probably distroy the belt, if not the variator. :-*

Hmmm. Checked with one dealer and they say 2007- uses the same variator, same number.. can anyone confirm that?

Maybe so? Why build a new variator when all you need to do is go from 30 to 33 grams in roller weight to lower the RPM's somewhat because the fuel injected bikes have more power and torque? I have a 2007 with a Leo Vinci exhaust. I want to put in a DNA (K&N style) filter, and re-jet from the 118 to a 120 or 122. If this gives more power, I may experiment with heavier rollers to lower the freeway RPM's. I don't know if it could take the 33 gram weights or not? But 31 or maybe 32 may do the trick? Has anyone done this? :-*

Nothing wrong with stock vario. Just like to test different ones. I'm gonna test 32-33g with stock variator and harder contra spring . Also little bigger jet.

I meant Dr Pulley sliders, not their vario.
Also, harder contra spring = higher revs.

Dr Pulleys will bring the revs down at cruising speeds.

Cortez is right. Don't mess with the spring. Adjust your RPM's by way of the roller weights. I used Dr P 31 gram sliders in the bike once. At 1 gram over the stock weight of 30, it did lowwer my RPM's by about 500, I would say at freeway speeds. :-*

Yes true but with heavier rollers you may need harder contra spring for balance. Sometimes just heavier rollers make the bike sluggish.

Everyone has to test different setups to find the one that suits their driving style. One other thing that I wonder about. Why are Dr. Pulley so popular in USA and not that popular in lets say Europe?

That is what I'm thinking too. On my Nexus I had Polini variator, +2g, kevlar belt and slightly harder contra spring. That was a perfect combo on that bike. Better acc., more responsive at all speeds and 700rpm lower at highway cruise. Did some testing with Malossi and J. Costa too.
