2009 xcite 500i factory materials used
« on: September 09, 2012, 09:22:44 PM »
Good day all,

I have the 2009 Xcite 500i and need to know what type of paint finish to the body panels, I need to do some touch-ups, plus, what material is the windshield made of. Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

Scarsegit

Depending on the model, there may not be any touch up paint. I have the red 500x. A fair amount of clear plastic over the ... paint... which has faded badly. The only for me is to replace the plastic, or completely paint it.

Go to PEP Boys or another Auto Parts store.  Usually have a wide selection,
Just pick one.

If no touch up paint for your bike, they should at least have the paint code? And then an auto body paint store could match it up for you. And remember, there is a clear coat on all paints now.  :-*

Cindav/Scarsegit,

If you can tell me what color your scooter is I may be able to provide a paint color code.

If you not find touch up paint, a serious paint store should be able to scan and then mix some for you.

After about 6 months, I'm still waiting for the dealer to get me the touch up paint.  But as Spindrift said, go to a serious auto paint store.  That's what I did, I had to bring them the bike and they were able to match the color perfectly.  Sold me the paint in a spray can and now it is perfect.  If you are in New Jersey or nearby, I can give you the info.

Did you paint the entire panel, and which panel was it?
