Shopping for new helmet

I'm shopping for a new helmet

Any recommendations?

I want a full face helmet. Maybe modular, but I'm afraid a modular will not give me a good seal around my chin/neck for the winter.

My old helmet is an Icon. I like it. A little hot in the summer(It's black). The face shield does not latch on one side anymore. Unfortunately, I'm gonna have to replace the entire helmet. Winter is coming soon and I'm gonna need the shield to close and seal.

I'd rather be warm in the winter than hot in the summer. I don't like the crazy graphics, just a solid color. White or maybe a dark red to match the Peop. I'd like to spend less than or around $200. Less is better. I'm willing to pay for a good one though. I know $50 helmets suck.

Thoughts? Ideas?

Shield hinges are covered up now  . So when I drop it the hinge doesn't break  . That's what happened to the old one.

I can tell from the picture that shield leaks air bad. I ride year round. 20 degrees is bad enough, I don't need the air blowing on my face too.

It's Euro (ECE) approved not DOT.... but I won't tell....

I almost bought a flip up helmet a few months ago, changed my mind when i saw how they flex when pushed hard on the chin. Im sticking with full face now.

That and my US Army M65 Parka and im real toasty, even on real cold mornings.

I have had excellent results with the G-Max 68 full face helmet for around $120 USD..  On Webbikeworld.com it had good reviews and was "Helmet of the Year" a few years back.   Also, if you have a Kymco scooter in the metallic Pearl White color the G-Max white is a perfect match.  

Optically perfect shield, great ventilation (needed here in Florida), quiet (my opinion - most say it's quiet and a few say otherwise), and also has a 6-LED red light built into the rear with an optional transmitter that can be triggered from your bikes brake light.

The only negative in cold climates is that there are two additional side vents in the chin bar that can't be open/closed easily - helmet comes with foam plugs to block them inside if you don't want the ventilation from them.  Below is the model 68 full face - I have this in addition to one of the model 67 open-face versions which I like also.

I have a G-Max and I would not recommend it. The wind noise very bad. Much louder than my HJC or Scorpion. Also although it has a lot of vent holes they are made at a 90 degree angle and there is very little air circulation. That said, I do still use it because it has the (optional) face shield with a flip up dark lens so I don't have to change shields to ride at night and the red blinking light on the back for added visibility. I definitely would not wear it without using earplugs.

motorcyclegear.com has the HJC RPS 10 (their top of the line) on clearance. I have an older model HJC that I am very happy with.

BMW or Shoei. Have used Shoei since 1996 I think. So nice. Best interior and fit my head perfect. There are other brands too that are good ofcourse. Depends on how much you wanna spend but go to a shop and try them on. Do not buy online unless you are sure it fits you.
