You might check the www.ironpony.com/ . They sometimes have good closeout prices and have been good to deal with for me . Good luck .

Too much, I can't spend $400 on a helmet. I know they're nice but damn.

Guess I've never had a really crappy helmet. I can't imagine having to wear ear plugs  :D

I'm attracted to Icon or HJC because I know the sizes that fit me well. I ordered my HJC ATV helmet off the internet and couldn't be happier. I may still go try some on.

Sometimes my helmet falls or drops to the ground accidentally. It's how my old one broke. I see that Icon has addressed that problem with covers over the shield hinges now.

I don't know... I'm kinda torn between HJC and Icon. There's a big motorcycle store in town. I might go check some out in person.

I like the safty part of a helmet. But they say it needs to be dot aproved. Well what good is that if your not going to wear one in the frist place. Be smart and wear one all the time.Rtaher its the law or not.

I have an HJC IS-Max and really like it.  I looked for a helmet that had the flip-down sunshield.  Of course, it's a modular helmet.

I bought mine from a motorcycle dealership in town.  In my opinion, that's the only way to find a helmet that will fit.  It's an x-large.  I have tried other mfg(s) helmets that fit differently and were the same size if not smaller.

If you have a cycle gear in town, they offer a 7day return policy on the helmets they sell.

Shoei is a fine helmet, but very expensive. The like Scorpion the best for the money. Checkout the EXO 500 series for around $150.00+ or consider the EXO 400 series as well (less coin) The helmet liner comes out for a quick wash, well ventilated & solid!

Good Luck!

HJC's are decent for the coin, but honestly Scorpion would have been the better choice IMHO. The EXO 400 line (Snell & DOT rated) would have cost about the same.

Good luck with it & what I like is you didn't completely get "cheap" HJC is soild. There are so many crappy helmets out there for like $40.00. One has to remember that you're protecting your mellon & it's not good to buy super-cheap!

Yeah, I won't buy a cheap helmet. I'm familiar with HJC helmets. I have a HJC MX helmet that I love. I just bought a new TV and a new laptop too so my budget was kinda slim. I'm happy with it though. Nothing fancy, just a good helmet.

Think thats the newer version of my HJC helmet? Cant remember the number of mine but it looks alkost identical to that. Only problem i have with mine is in the winter if its cold and i want my visor fully down to keep the wind chill off my face then the visor steams up easily and i have to end up leaving it cracked open slightly. Other than that im pretty happy with mine, and it was cheap.
Chaos is my co-pilot.
