If it fits in the battery case and is for 12 volts, then it should be ok.

Is it maintenance free or does it use electrolyte ?

I had a 7amp fitted by the dealer to my peugeot kisbee 50 gy6 that i owned last year as the 4 amp had no back bone and as you say it really helps with cranking power especialy a must in them minus temps in deep winter, when my agility battery starts to weaken i will be getting a 7amp, is your 7amp a gel battery i was told the one i had fitted was a gel battery they normaly fit to the honda cbr125 as that one was the only one they had in stock that would fit as it was only slightly larger.....
IF IT IS NOT BROKE DONT FIX IT:)
