I found out the hard way how long the stock tires will last! With over 16000 miles on the clock, I had a major blowout all the way through the tire. Thought I could get by till the winter.Only brand available for both tires was Avon.Don't do what I did, check your tread wear indicators.

Wow! Really, 16,000 miles on the stock tires?
? I'm really easy on my vehicles but even my motorcycles need new tires between 7 and 10 thousand miles. My Super 9 needed a new rear tire at 7,000 miles.
Hope you weren't hurt!

I have something of recollection my tires would be good for around 20 K miles. I'm little over 10 K now.

I have 10,000+ on my stock. Question, will a blow out occur at speeds of 20-30mph? because that's my average riding speed per day.

A blowout can occur at any speed when you hit something that penetrates the tire. Forrtunately I was going fairly slow and managed to get off the road before anybody hit me.

Replaced my rear at about 12000+ miles with an Avon. Will report wear.
