I just ordered a new air filter for my Yager.  I selected one from Moxie Scooters.com for $17.99 Plus $5.50 shipping.  After shopping around it looked like a good price so I bought it.  I also saw some that would cost $56.00 US.  While looking I saw that some just use filter materiel and place it on the old frame.  My first thought was that I could probably use the filter from my hot air home heater.  It seems like a good idea, but I was not sure what filter materiel was correct. So what does very one do?

Not mine I found the picture somewhere. I'd use black RVT of course!

Here's some info on a filter you could use (from amazon);

Guys...Why mess with a non-stock air filter. Really? Makes no sense too me. How often does one need to replace an air filter? Every 5K-6K miles (US)? Just buy the Kymco stock one & be done with it. It's short coin & it's meant to work with your engine. Just my 2 cents worth.

My Yager owners manual indicates change it every 2400 miles.

The K&N gives better airflow if you don't oil it much. If you have a 2-stroke and want to run a bigger jet this will allow you to keep a water resistant setup and not run rich. Just one more thing to play with.

Well today the price is $31, better buy it quick!

I always buy a K+N then forget about it. They get better
with age and never dirty enough to bother cleaning.

I'm not keen on replacing it every 2400 miles. The
service on these things is crazy! I can understand the oil
as there's only 1 quart in there. It's probably the cheezy
filter that will only go 1200 miles anyway. I could have bought
a Ducati if I wanted to service it everyday...

Rich: I think that depends on where you live. If you live in New Mexico or Arizona, then yes. I live in New England & needed to change-out my air filter after nearly 5K miles (Kymco People S200 @ the tiime) It wasn't that bad looking, but I changed it out just the same. I think OEM is the way to go myself.
