Anyway, before you buy a tyre, always search the web for reviews and comments about that particular type of tyre.
Don't go by brand name alone, even the best manufacturers have one or two types in their collection that are rubbish. For example a Michelin Pilot Sport is great, while a Michelin SM100 is mediocre at best...
Also, what's more important than people saying it's a good tyre is the absence of people saying that it's a bad tyre. Some people will promote anything they own, while negative reviews are mostly based on negative experiences in reality.
As for fitting the tyres yourself : at first it will be extremely frustrating, but once you have worked out the tools and the tricks, it can be relatively easy.. But if you don't plan on doing this often, it's certainly wiser to go to a local shop and have them do it for you. Beware that at some shops they're not amused when you buy the tyres somewhere else...
