No mods haha. The forks at their narrowest part is 6". The 130 is a hair over 5" and the 120 is a hair under 5". It would be nice for the Speedo to be closer to true lol

You may find the handling off and steering is heavier using the wider from tyre? Speedo should be exactly the same since the height stays the same, only width changes. I went from normal to low profile tyres on my beetle, means when i drive i have to take off 10% from my speedo to get my actual true speed.

The indicated hight of a tyre is a percentage of its width - it's relative, not absolute...

Therefore a 130/70-12 will have a slightly larger diameter than a 120/70-12...

You'll probably need about 7mm of extra headroom for a 130/70-12.. But since tyre sizes aren't as exact as one would expect, and you're changing the shape of the tyre by putting it on a narrower rim, there's only one way to find out...

  The "130/60" part indicates that the width of the tread is 130mm (5.1")
and that the tire has an aspect ratio of 0.60 (or 60%), which means that
the sidewall height is 60% of the width of the tire.

  So the width is always known but the height must be calculated. I'm not
sure why they did it that way, probably to confuse you into letting a friendly
tire dealer figure it out for you...

You really think the handling will be that off? Do you think it would be wise to go one size down? I figured with the snow, ice, and rain the more surface area the better

I've noticed no significant difference in handling when I went from a 90/90-10 to a 100/90-10 on the front wheel of my 10" Agility....

But then again, the 10" has always been a nervous unguided missile anyway, one of the reasons I bought a 12" as well...

Any time i upgraded my tyres to wider ones on old cars with no power steering i always felt the steering a bit heavier, would assume the scoot would be the same. It may not make much difference, i dont know cos i never tried it tho on a scooter. Yet 

I cant see it making too much improvement in ice or bad weather over a good set of aftermarket tyres in the stock sizes tho, if you hit ice on 120's its going to be the same outcome as it would be if you had 130's imo.

I would stick with stock 120 width myself on the front prob.

It's definitely my first choice to stay with the stock sizes. I just don't know how long I can wait for a restock

Thanks a lot, Word. Now this threw my whole plan off. The Avon tires are all weather and I can use them all year while the urban snow tires may be better for the winter but the rest of the year would be a waste. How are the vipers in rain and such? Are they still sticky? The vipers are more than $40 cheaper each too!!!
