Havent tried the s8 yet. The s9 is definately not just for beginners. There is a group of people out there (Like me) that are ex motocrossers who grew up on 2 stroke bikes. (79' CR 80, 81' YZ 125, etc...). We have throughout our lives owned crotch rockets (Honda 919, Ninja's, etc...) and as we got older still want to ride but cant afford to eat it as our old bones arent as strong as they once were. Having to load up dirt bikes and drive somewhere to ride has lost its fun. Harleys (IMO) are way to loud and obnoxious (not to mention the bad ass attitude that all Harley riders throw down - riding is supposed to be fun - not an Ill kick your ass contest!) Just because someone owns a 50cc scoot does not mean they cant afford a motorcycle or a larger scoot (250cc). I had an 86' Honda Elite 250 I sold to get the orange s9. This scoot is super quick, excellent dual discs stop on a dime, the suspension is very tight and the overall experience is that your riding around town on a yz 80 (legally!) After riding scoots on vacation and various beaches here and there we became scooter people. Theres just something about a screamin, Street legal, 2 stroke. FYI - the red scoot got sold before i could get it. Ive since painted the silver bottom plastic on the orange s9 and removed all stickers.  ;D

Where I live, scooter owners are generally regarded as "less worthy" by motorcycle owners.
Generally I do not mingle around motorcycle crowds, but a few times when I visited some biker club meetings, I even saw at the entrance the sign "Motorcycle riders to not pay entrance - scooters are not motorcycles".

This is usually written by people who ride their bikes from May to August when it is sunny, dry and warm and usually only to the biker's fest where they get wasted and then come back home and use their cages daily to go to work. Of course, they can speed only on straight parts of the road while bends are driven at 30 km/h.

When I said "beginner's bike", I meant the following: throughout Europe, you can drive 50 cc scooters when you are 14 y.o. and without any kind of additional license if you have a license for a car. In my town 90 % of 50 cc scooters is driven by elementary/high school kids.

This is why I said - beginner's bike. In fact, I never heard of someone seriously downgrading to 50 cc scooter as a single bike.

So far I had Kymco 50 cc scooter, Yamaha TW125, Kawasaki ZR-7S, Piaggio NRG 50 LC extreme, Piaggio Zenith 50 cc, Beverly 200.
Now I have Piaggio NRG mc2 50 cc, Kymco Agility 125, Kymco People 250 S and yesterday I bought a 200 cc quad. :)
I forgot Piaggio Grillo 50 cc that is not registered. :)

So, as a conclusion, I am the last person to speak badly about scooterists. In fact, I ride 365 days throughout the year under all conditions, in rain, in snow and in ice. I sold my car in 2002 and now when I need it - I rent it! :)

Thumbs up! ;D

Right on! The s9 looks like a mini sport bike. Thats a major reason i dig it. It handles like a mini sport bike - another plus! $1500 bux  - another plus. I ride around my small lakeside neighborhood, park, golf course, to the bank, store, restaraunts, beer store (can easily fit a twelve pack under the seat). So basically a larger bike would be easier to ride but the combination of looks, color and motor won me over. Im 43 and still ridin! Havin a blast.

Painted silver part black and removed more stickers. In stock form this bike is heavily overstickered. Lovin it! Two rides today in 100 degree weather. Seems to run best when its HOT! ;D

just threw on a set of new Pirelli 130/70 x 12 (r) and 120/70 x 12 (f). Best move ever! the og cheng shins have a weird profile to them. These pirelli's are much rounder on the face. Instantly feels like your stuck to the ground much more than stock. Steering is much tighter. Plus I dig the tread pattern.. $88 for tires +$50 for installation. Later.

thanx. i added some "repsol" stickers - looks kinda like a mini repsol honda superbike. :P i have owned alot of scoots - i can honestly say the super9 is the most incredible, well designed, comfortable, big, 50cc scoot ever. Perfect for short trips, around town, the lake, etc..

I noticed you don't have the winker stalks. Nice clean look! If only it were legal in the U.S.. ( I run mine w/out them anyway) I'm keeping my eyes open for a "9", sure like the look!
