I have found in the service manual that the Yager alternator puts out 168 watts,
I wonder if there is enough extra to run a set of heated grips? Probably 30 watts max...

Well I'm not sure about that. Kymco doesn't sell them for this bike, that would say yes.
So you have to add up all the draws and see if they are more than the max output of the
 stator. On my previous bike the older 180 watt ones couldn't support heated grips but the
 newer 280 watt bike could. The Yager outputs 168 watts.

  I can guess the FI uses 3 amps or 36 watts (the fuel pump alone uses 5 amps on some bikes!),
this is based on people selling aftermarket FI systems to add to your bike (I wonder if the tuning
software would work with our system?).

  The headlight uses 55 - 60 Watts, the brake light is 20 watts. So we have over 100 watts so far.
It the fan cones on it might draw 20 - 30 watts, blinkers will be another 20 - 30 watts. So we could
be 140 to 160 watts.

  You can put them on and run them but there might be a net loss from the system...

I am very sure. Had 60 W heated grips for 4 years on Beverly 200s, never a problem with battery. Had them on other bikes and scoots as low as 50 cc.

Now I have them both on my P250S and Agility 125. The first is 4 y.o., the second 5 y.o., almost, both with OEM batteries.

Do not fret about this, buy them, put them on, forget about them.

Most will be around 40 W anyway, or 40 W stage one (heat up) and 20-30 W later (driving mode).

Changing the bulbs to LED would drop the power consumption - that would leave some power for the heated grips.

You could gain a little doing that. I was wondering if someone had put a voltmeter
on the bike to check it. Some bikes won't make full power at idle so the output is
constantly changing. Most modern bikes make full power all the time and so sometimes
have problems with the regulator overheating and the output climbs too high and
boils the battery. So drawing extra juice is a good thing but most scooters have
wimpy stator's so I wouldn't try adding high draw items to them. The Yager is
in between so not sure if it's OK?
