Before and After
« on: October 22, 2012, 09:46:47 PM »
Necessity is the mother of invention. I had a few deep scratches on the front moulding. Called Mike Esposito at Scratch Masters, LLC,. He encountered a problem trying to match the paint to finish the job. After three days of searching for the color code and unable to get the exact match, I suggested another option.

Before

After

Looks alright. You couldve got the paint made up tho from most decent spray paint company's, most have one of those colour reading machines these days that reads the colour its placed over and lets them mix a batch up to match. The local guy near me mixed up some paint to match in on a 1971 car i had, paint match was exact.
Chaos is my co-pilot.

Tried three different stores but none could come up with a match.

Nice job!  When the original won't work, go with something better!  I actually think it looks even better than it did before.

That's nice! Personally, I'd make it matte/flat black... ;D

Did you go to a paint store or autobody shop?  As the other fellow stated a shop with an electronic scanner should have been able to come up with something that matches but there is also skill involved in the spraying of the paint.

If the Kymco red is a metallic it takes some skill to get a match also - see my thread in the Downtown 300 area about how the painter had to match my metallic Pearl White.
