valve adjustment
« on: October 24, 2012, 09:20:39 PM »
Just did my third valve adjustment on my ps250 - WHAT A PAIN TO GET THE COVER OFF THE VALVE AREA!!  If you know an easy way please share it.  The top adjustment was a tad tight and the bottom one was way way tight.   What are the consequences if they are too tight or too loose?  It seemed to be running fine before and I haven't riden it since I took it off the stand - tonight I will!

If the valves get too tight to the point of just holding them off the seat, they will burn over time and performance will suffer. Too loose performance can suffer and they will be noisy.

Here is a how to on the S 250. Also when you get the cover loose have the scooter on the side stand and have some one push down on the seat. This will rotate the engine up where the cover will clear the cross member.
