Randy,

Good idea about sanding the LED to diffuse the light.

I may do that to the inside of the scooter lens . . . . or maybe give it mist thick coating of amber/yellow paint.

Experimenting is a little risky went I only have one set of lens covers.

I purchased 10 (10 light) flexible strips of white LEDs from China and put them under my scoot giving it a large glow circle on the ground surrounding the bike.  Cheap on/off switch in front of the seat to control them.  Gives the scoot a much bigger presence at night.   They're super glued under the fenders front and back and around the chrome under the top case with wires running back to the battery.   The glowing chrome really helps my scoot look larger from the rear.   I have black tape that glows white when the light hits on the front fenders and top case.   I've got LED turn signals and tail light also.  It's all about being seen.  Sorry not a kymco but I'm looking to get a bigger wheeled scoot and the people or DT300 is probably where I'll end up so I joined the forum.

Johnson,

Thanks for sharing your mod's . . . . I don't think anyone minds that it's not a Kymco. The ideas can be applied to any scoot.

LED's can become addictive. Here's a post showing what I've added to my Grand Vista 250.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a LED kit? I just want a little extra light on the front and back of my scooter. Thanks  :)

Ok...so I ordered some LED pods on ebay for about $15, but I don't know how to connect them. I have 4 pods with 1ft. of red and black wire coming off of each one. I would like for it to be as neat and clean as possible. Any advice?
Thanks  ???

Well you have to get creative. You need a plus (red) and a ground (black) for each light.

You also want them to shut off with the bike. So you need to find a switched power wire
somewhere near where you want to mount the lights.

In the back you have a light for parking that is one contact of the brake light bulb. There is
usually a parking light in the front too. I don't have a schematic to your model to tell me
what color the wire is. See if you can find one online and post it up forus...

..well, what i did, was run a 16g wire off the battery, to an inline fuse...

.. used a 500 milliamp fuse (1/2 amp)...

..from the inline, i ran another 16g wire to a toggle switch that i mounted inside the front cowling...any convenient location will do...

..off the secondary side of the switch, connect as many positive (+)  LED circuits as you need to...

                              :o

..my a50 has 4 circuits with a total of 120+ individual LEDs..

..attach a 16g wire (black) to the negative (-) post of your battery...

..terminate all LED negative wiring to that black wire...

..you now have a protected, controllable LED ground effect light circuit...

      easy as pi !!..

Is there something I can get to consolidate the 4 red and 4 black wires (one of each coming off of each LED) and then just run it to the battery?

Well your going to have to get some wire and a soldering iron and some solder (or a friend
who has the same) then you can add to the wires and run them any where you want.
