OG: I have always said....The Kymco People S250 was the best looking scooter made currently. I think it blows away (looks wise) my current GT300i myself.

Thanks. What you can do on the clear reflector and it is clear it just has a silver piece of  paper behind it, is take it off and paint the back side with some bright red paint. Works fairly well.

Old Geezer: I called Shad a few minutes ago & they said last year they changed the reflector from Red to White. I found my Red color change panels here:

http://scootershop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=&products_id=13251&osCsid=aqrbxrsiirl

I purchased it direct from Shad for $48.00 & free shipping. It's an exact paint match to my Kymco Super 8 @ my parents home. Just an FYI.

Wordslinger: I hear you! Kymco always makes their seats too hard! Even on my GT300i & before that my People S200. I'm heading down to see my parents this coming Tuesday (2/5) to Florida to buzz around on my Super 8 150cc, that I keep down there. My father started-up my Super 8 last week & it kicked-over on the first pass. That's good news. I load it-up with Seafoam, Stabil & fuel ethanol stabilizer (StarBrite) before I leave for a few months. It will be great to leave sub-20 degree weather as of late. My home-based scooter is in storage & I haven't been on a scoot for 3 months! Can't wait! I wished I lived in a area that I could scoot all of the time...but I don't.

I just bought a Shad SH40 Cargo top case for my GTI300. It came with a silver reflector. I took it apart and used the silver reflector as a template. I went to Pep Boys and bought some 3M red reflective tape. I covered the silver, trimmed the edges, and put it back together. Looks great and cost about $5.00.

OG: So...You purchased a GT300i? Nice job! What did you do with your S250? Sell it? What color did you get? Let me guess...Black? Or maybe Silver like me? I guess you didn't like the supplied top case? I'm still using the Kymco case myself. I may upgrade down the road.

Guys...A little update. I was having a problem with my carb on the Super 8. Brought it to the dealer & he fixed it within a half an hour (@ Kymco's expense) It was one of the jets that was clogged. Anyway...The dealer also sells SYM. She has a 2012 HD200 & would sell it for $3100.00 & would give me $2,000 for my Super 8 (bought it from them in November) I took it for a test spin & I must admit it's night & day! 15.3HP vs. the Super 8's 9.39HP. Plus...It's water cooled & has rear disc brakes. I think I may pull the trigger on it today. I really like the Super 8, but I'm chubby @ 6' & 230 lbs. & the SYM HD200 feels like it "fits" me better.

Is the SYM a leftover or used. At that price if it's a leftover it's cheap. The super 8and the SYM are completely different animals. I rode the SYM and loved it.

If its a leftover at that price buy it, or I will I.

it's a leftover still in it's create. It's a Charcoal color (not my favorite. Red is my color) Retail is $3499.00, but she (owner) charges $100.00 for freight, but no other fees. So...It would cost me $3200.00 plus Florida tax. They are closed Sunday & Monday. I'll make my final decision on Tuesday. It's a great deal, but keep in mind that use the scooter 4 times a year when I visit my parents. I would love the extra power & I love 16" wheels. I must admit the Super 8 is still the best deal for a respectable 150cc scooter even though they bumped-up the retail price $100.00 to $2499.00 for 2013.

Guys...I decided to keep the Super 8. The dealer had a buyer lined-up to purchase (on consignment) my 2013 S8 w/ appx. 500 miles on her. Then, the person wanted a brand new one or so the dealer says. I think the dealer talked in the buyer into buying new so they could make some more money myself. Then the dealer offered me $1600.00, then I said no way. Considering I bought the S8 in November, I didn't want to lose that much coin, plus I use it scooter like 4 times a year when I'm down in Florida.

Oh well....The SYM HD200 would have been nice, but I'm still very happy with my Super 8.

Wow this thread is in the grave but I'm glad you guys love the S8 because I just picked one up last week and she is lovely. It feels like she runs stronger each day. I currently have 140 miles on her but will begin my commute to work with her soon. Excited!

I just got her last week and she seems to be running stinger each day! 😊. The only major hiccup I've had was the headlights! They went out during one of my last commutes. I had to reset the bike 😕
