Human flesh makes a crappy brake pad.

That may be true, but I get mad everytime I hear someone say that Gasoline and Alcohol don't mix..  >:(

They do mix, but they taste TERRIBLE!!

Personally, I'm not a fan of leather.  It's no moral objection, I just don't think that it looks good on me (not that anything really does...with me it's like putting lipstick on a pig).  I wear textile with armor in the shoulders, elbows and back.  But, I do wear leather riding gloves...does that count?...lol.

For cool weather riding I bought a Kevlar/Armored Hoodie from GoGo Gear. Love this ... warm and protective and looks like a regular hoodie. Fit is awesome, as well . (Actually. I have two - one is larger so as to wear heavier clothing under for even more warmth/layering) .

They make a number of armored jackets that don't look like your typical 'biker' clothing. Good for people who have to dress professionally for work .

I have the kevlar hoodie from gogo gear also.   I also have the ventilated cafe jacket and I just love it.  It's comfortable, has good air circulation and is really nice looking.

I got my husband a kevlar hoodie as well and he likes it.  When he wears it, it's the only time he's wearing proper protection.

I was at my dealer the other day and asked about riding pants. They really don't stock much as they are a small dealer but the gal showed me some kevlar reinforced jeans. What's the deal with these? If I go down how will these help or am I not seeing the forest for the trees. I was really thinking on the lines of a CE armoured reinforced  pant not jeans.

I have both.

The Kevlar jeans I have also have CE in the knees. I have hit the blacktop in them and they did better than just jeans. They shredded but not thru ,no road rash on me. That said they are not optimum but there are days even my mesh fully armored pants are just to hot.

As I said above I also use the Bohn armored Lycra pants under whatever when it's blazing hot.
I do make compromises as there are times in Florida that ATGATT needs to be adjusted.

Personal choices.

Enjoy your ride.
