Also has anyone tried running their scooter with 3 variator rollers, If so did it increase performance or should i just go ahead and order lighter rollers?

i have a kymco people 50 2 stroke and since i did not want to buy new rollers i took 3 out. it killed my performance because the scooter would rev up high and just sit on 30 or so (i usually get 40). The problem with running only 3 rollers is that you no longer have enough weight to push the 2 pulleys together. Dividing the weight be 2 is really not the way to go.

I ordered lighter rollers have always ran three. i had a 50cc chinese scoot than ran three rollers over 4500 mkn with no probs other than when i took them out they had flat spots lol

in my experience....

on some scoots it increases take off but limits top end
on others it doesnt affect anything for som reason
on others it increases top speed but rpms rev higher
on some it increases take off without affecting rpm's that much but also not limiting top end, which is wierd but i still cant figure it out.

i do know that when you run 3 rollers at a time, when replacing them use the other slots instead of the ones you just used so mark the three slots you take the ones out of or mark the slots you need to use while the others are in. this keeps any possible wear pretty even but ater that many miles the onyl signs of wear were on the rollers themslves with the flat spots, the sliders were fine.

...ok...i get that....i have a 2008 agility that I bought new in december of 07..tripped 30,000 kilometers last week...I ordered a Malossi Multivar variator...the dealer shipped me one with 9 gr rollers...I installed it anyway....cuz the original was SHOT!..(i'm learning as I go)..the kit came with a longer main spring for the clutch...I also installed a new non-kevlar belt..initial take-off is good, and I pick up speed fairly well on flat land..around 40mph, I hear a loud rattling noise that goes away around 45...any idea what that might be?

peace
