Lift/jack stand for Yager
« on: December 27, 2012, 09:14:26 PM »
Looking to get a lift/jack stand (like Harbor Freight ATV/motorcycle stand/lift).  My old knees don't work on the floor so I'd like to lift it up to work on the valves, etc.  Can these lift the Yager without removing the plastic pan under the frame?  With most of the weight in the back end, does that prohibit the use of the lift anyway?

Thanks,
Charlie P.

I think you have to use something like this;
http://www.harborfreight.com/1000-lb-capacity-motorcycle-lift-68892-8495.html

The price is a little steep but it will get the bike up to working height. The plastic belly pan would not
support the bike on an ATV lift...

 I just ordered a new 300GTI and have the same situation. You can still buy the less expensive stand. Just build a platform out of wood to set on the arms of the stand. Roll your scooter onto the platform, set it on its centerstand, and jack up the whole thing. You could also use it to work on your lawn mower, snowblower or pressure washer.

I HAVE THE SEARS JACK FOR $115.  I HAVE WOOD ON IT JUST TO DISTRIBUTE THE LOAD FLAT.  IT WORKS FINE AND NO DAMAGE TO THE YAGER.
I'VE ONLY USED IT ONE TIME PLUS A TEST RUN.  NO PROBLEM.

A jack like this? I'd worry about crushing the belly plastic unless you remove it..

Build a platform big enough to set the scooter on its centerstand. Set the platform on the jack, then roll the scooter onto the platform. Put it on the centerstand, then jack everything up
