Mirrors stolen
« on: January 10, 2013, 11:59:28 PM »
Got off work today, walked out to the parking garage, started up the bike, rolled it forward to take it off the main stand, then tried to glance in my rear view mirrors as I walked the bike back out of the parking stall.

I say "tried to glance in my rear view mirrors" because they were both gone! Someone (someone who obviously had tools, so probably someone I work with) had removed the mirrors very neatly, not even leaving any scratches.

At least the thief was considerate enough not to just try to rip them off their posts. If I find out who it was, he's fired for sure.

So... does anyone know a good place to order OEM replacement mirrors? I think this next set will go on with high strength thread locker.

I have seen things like this before.  It is amazing that people don't consider the consequences of their actions.  I hope you find him, they will probably be on a home made scooter for his kid.

That's so messed up.
Is it common where you live? Where is that btw?

Living in NYC for years, I was used to lock the scooter with a chain regularly but now I'm in Northern California, it's actually so surprising how people are respectful of others' property.

I hope you catch the guy who did it!!

Ordered one each left and right mirror from Rock Ridge Scooter, where I'd originally ordered the scooter. Price was $45.16 each, and should take about a week to arrive. The guy at Rock Ridge Scooter remembered me from when I ordered the scooter, despite me not having any contact with them since then.

I'm in South San Francisco. Where are you in Northern California?

No surveillance cameras where I work, but it's the parking garage at SFO. They've got guys in carts driving around checking things.

Nah, I've never gone on any rides. My bike's a workhorse, used for commuting to work, picking up groceries, etc. I almost never go on joy rides.
