damn idle
« on: January 28, 2013, 06:45:44 PM »
so i installed my new 70cc kit and having trouble with the idle...when i go for a ride then come to a stop it hangs at 3000rpm then drops down after a min or so...so im guessing would a larger pilot jet solve the issue? ive messed with the a/f its backed out at about 1/4 to 1 turn

That can be caused by an air leak into the intake I think...

On 2 strokes the exhaust side can pull in air as well. Soapy water in a squirt bottle can find any leaks. I'd check and make sure nothing is hanging up in the carb first though.

You still running the stock carb?

On super 9 which way riches up the a/f screw? I've seen a few condescending post.
I just want to know from a kymco owner.

..on the oem carb, turning the screw on the left clockwise, makes the fuel mix lean...

..rule of thumb, is that if the fuel mix screw is before the throttle adjusting screw, in the air-flow, then it adjusts air..opening will increase air...

..if the fuel mix screw is after the throttle, in the air-flow direction...then the screw adjusts fuel entry into the mix, so opening will increase fuel...
