Any bloggers?
« on: February 07, 2013, 03:09:34 PM »
I'm just curious to see if any of you maintain a blog about your adventures?  Your wrenching?  It does not have to be motorcycle related, but it is a motorcycle forum.

I actually have had a few blogs over time dealing with several of my interests.  My motoblog is at http://www.2smallerwheels.blogspot.com/ if your interested.  I know, self promotion!  LOL

Seriously though, I am always interested in reading about other adventures.  :)  Feel free to share.

I might be anal here but if you are trying to make a top notch blog you should start with your spelling. I spell like crap and I spoted 1 mistake right out of the gate, if I can spot one others are sure to pick up on them.

If speeling isn't important ignor me.

I love your blog. I am glad you have a scooter club to go riding with. I had a 2 cheap Chinese 50ccs scooters for two years and those bikes required a lot of work. My last bike was a 50cc Roketa scooter and she lasted for 2 years. She was okay. Since I got my Kymco Agility 125cc scooter, it truly is a difference of night and day. One can see the quality in these bikes. In the Nevada Scooter Brigade, one of members went from having a 50cc VIP scooter to a Burgman 650cc scooter. I was blown away by just how much he paid for his 2013 Burgman 650. He told me it was 11 grand. For this amount of money, one could purchase a used Harley Davidson.  You will love your Kymco. They are great bikes. Enjoy the ride. ::)

Hello Everyone,
I've read your posts and there is a lot of passion on both sides. When news hit about the children killed in their school room I was enraged and sickened. I could connect and empathize with the parent's grief at the loss of their young darlings. As a father of three, (all grown now), I could feel the sorrow. In looking for solutions this country has very limited interventions and access to help for the mentally ill. If we could divert some of our funding away from our con artist legislatures special interest money into community based mental health treatment centers some of these sick souls who perpetrate these killings could possibly be identifed and cut off from access to firearms. At this time in America the 2nd Ammendment needs to be maintained and the people who can undergo a more stringent background check should be allowed gun ownership. There is a horrible trend going on in the suburbs done by young thugs in gangs called home invasion where your front door is kicked in and they come in shooting. I keep a loaded 9mm next to my recliner at all times.

So sorry, I feel like an idiot. Obviously this post was intended for the "What's happening" thread.

I have done a numbers of scooter ride reports on the Adventure rider forum, both on my Super 8 as well as my other bikes.  Here's a few links:

Look for the li'l globe icon under the name/avatar -- that's where you'll find the porn blogs.

Klaviator: You're the reason why I purchased a Kymco Super 8 150cc to keep @ my parents home (Florida) that I visit like 4 time a year. I've always been a Kymco "fanboy" but after reading your blogs....I decided to purchase the S8 150 over the less expensive Bintelli Havoc 150cc (Chinese made..but a good scooter just the same) Some Chinese scooters are getting much better now & Bintelli is one of them. It was a $700.00+ difference @ the time & I wanted to keep the price down as I don't use it that much. Your posts made the difference! I said to myself..."Just spend the extra coin & score the Super 8"

I must admit...aside from a semi-clogged lower RPM carb jet (dealer took care of that on Kymco's tab) she been a gem! She is rugged as hell & I love those 14' rims! I really enjoyed reading about your travels & was simply amazed as to the depths you took her! BTW...Do you still own it? I like your Aprilla...but we simply don't have a good dealer-network up here in the Boston area.

I wanted to thank you for all of your efforts with your posts! Really great stuff Klaviator!

BTW...Here is my posts with some pics of the Super 8...Mine was a 2013 (purchased in November 2012) Red in color like yours...but a tad different scheme of sorts..

Thanks for the kind words.  I'm always happy to see someone enjoying my ride reports.  I still have my Super 8 and ride it almost every day.  I just went over 10,000 miles.  It runs better now then when it was new.  As much as I like my Sport City, the Super 8 is more fun for riding around town.  I hope to put another 10-20,000 miles on it before getting a replacement.

Glad to see you are enjoying your Super 8.

Klaviator: Considering you purchased your Super 8 in late December of 2012 & you put on 10,000 miles already? That's insane! That's a true testament of what a stury little semi-GY6 Kymco engine can do. BTW...Have you been using mineral or synthetic oil?

I got My super 8 in Nov 2010, about 2 yrs and 3 months ago.  I'm putting about 4500+ miles per year on it but it's mostly short trips of 5-10 miles at a time.  It's much easier to rack up miles on longer rides.  I've had my Aprilia for about 22 months and have put over 14,000 miles on it.  I don't ride it nearly as often as my Super 8 but often ride it 200+ miles on a day ride and occasionally take longer trips.

As for my super 8, short trips and speeds of 45-50 mph are the norm.  I often run it at full throttle and 60+ MPH for short periods.  That's hard on an engine but the Super 8 doesn't seem to mind.  I've been using Shell Rotella 5w40 full synthetic except for when I was breaking it in when I used conventional oil.
