2009 Grand Vista 250
« on: February 17, 2013, 12:09:57 PM »
I am going to look at a 2009 GV tomorrow, 2nd owner (former family and now female owner) with just 1700 miles.  Pix look great and description says ex cond.  I am driving 2 hours with a trailer to see and possible buy.  Negotiated price is $2500.  Any thoughts on price, (seems good) and what I should pay attention to when inspecting?  This is my first scooter but I previously owned an 1100 Yamaha.  Planned usage it to take on motorhome for two up rides to town and sight seeing.  Any thoughts would be great as I must deside tomorrow.

1st.  Remember that the GV is designed for shorter people.  Taller riders have made mods to the seat, but I suggest that they would be more comfortable on a different Kymco.

 2.  Always check the engine oil level and the air pressure in the tires.  Those will tell you a lot about the manner in which the previous owner treated the scooter.

3.  A 2009 with 1700 miles should be as good as new, so inspect for frame damage and front fork damage.

My DH & I are very happy with my 2009 GV with about 3k miles.

scoot safely,
