She would fit in well at the Vegas Highrollers scooter rally happening next week. Many of the riders ride old school Vespas and Lambrettas. We have a quite of number of senior citizens that attend these rallies. 8)

Cool link & great story! As I recall.....In England anything @ 125cc (or below) doesn't require a M/C license, but I may be wrong here. But I think I'm not. The difference between a 125cc & 150cc engine here in the states means almost nothing! Maybe the 150cc has 1-2MPH faster @ top-end (maybe)

Nope. If you passed a car test before 2003 you can just jump on anything up to a 50cc restricted to 29mph. Anything highwr and you need a full bike license to suit that cc of bike. You can ride upto a 125cc on L (learner) plates after doing a days training but you must sit the full test within 2yrs or resit the days course and carry on with L plates.

Steido: Many thanks for the education! For some reason...I thought in England anything 125cc & under didn't need much to cruise. Much appreciate the insight!

I passed my car driving test prior to 2003 so was legally riding my 50cc kymco to work and back for a few years. Now i upgraded to a 125cc (non kymco) i mostly ride that so i am going thro the test parts now to get my full license by the end of the summer hopefully  :)

Cool story.  I bought my first bike at age 74.  At 75 I got a Piaggio MP3 500 and rode it from Dallas to NC, stopping in TN to ride the tail of the Dragon -- 2,431 miles total on return.  I decided to sell it after riding to New Orleans from Dallas at 77, doing the 531 miles in one day in July but I had to get the Kymco 500 this year after my Honda PCX was stolen.  I needed more power.  I'll probably go back to ride the Dragon again this year.  I don't turn 80 until August.  Of course I'm licensed.  I took the course at a Harley dealer.

Hell of a mid-life crisis your having!

I considered the MP3 500 but wasn't sure it handle the highway's I have to ride every day very well.  Plus the smaller tires on it as compared to a maxi-scoot scared me off some.

Houndguy, thanks for the inspiring link! Don't forget some of the "antiques" on this forum: De-dee is 79, geezer is 74 and I am 72 just to name three off the top of my head! There are more right here and they all are an inspiration.
