Crankcase cover and how do I remove it

I want to check my drive belt so need to remove the crankcase cover.
I've removed all the bolts and managed to get the rear of the cover (the brake light end) to move a little but otherwise it won't come free.

 Any suggestions?

   If it is like my 300i  just wiggle it till it comes loose,  if it doesnt come loose you have missed one bolt,

The cover is probably just a bit stuck to the rubber gasket; soft tapping with a rubber mallet should help loosen it.  You'll need to loosen the clamp and pry off the rubber breather tube at the front end too.  No need to remove the kick starter though.

Hi, just had the same problem with my 150, tried the rubber mallet but still wouldn't budge. Wonder if the OP had any success?

Hi Calothrix,
 No, didn't remove kick starter lever, but as poster above said you don't need to on a People 150.
 Service manual also shows this is the case.

Sorry Syd, I could of swore that I had to remove the lever when I took my cover off.

Well I'm going to have a try again his weekend, so will try removing the kickstarter and see it that helps. Will let you know! Thanks for your replies!

I just remembered... on my scoot... the kick starter lever is attached to the cvt cover... all you need is to remove all the bolts.. and pull out the cover... the lever comes with it...

Hi all. Well I finally got round to this. Got the CVT cover off buy kicking on the kickstarter and rubber mallet-ting the other end for about 5 mins. Eventually came off. Took a lot of bashing to get there though. The rubber gasket was holding it on but came off undamaged. Changed roller weights and belt, scooter running much smoother now.

Tip* if you smear just a tiny amount of grease around the lip of the cvt cover before reassembly.. The next time you come to removing it, you only require the gentlest of "love taps" from your rubber mallet ;)
