I guess it is about what you prefer for riding. Since I have been riding scooters for 3 years now I prefer the mild springs and hot dry summers. I have no problem riding in the winter. It all comes down to being nice and warm on your bike. I have a better appreciation for riding than I used to when I actually had a car for transportation. I will have a pickup truck mainly for loading my bike and taking her to SoCal, or Utah when I do long trips. Having a scooter has become a part of who I am. Its too bad my own friends who only have 4 wheel vehicles do not know what it is to want to ride. I could get a Harley for riding, but I prefer scooters over the motorcycles.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
Is this the official us version of geographic and history?

Bleys: You make me laugh! I'm an old guy (47) & it was a great day yesterday......but I still not that brave my friend! Went to the Celtics game last night (section 11 row 1!!!!!) We beat the snot out of the Raptors! Temps dipped again tonight, so we are back to square one. My GTI300 is still @ the local dealership heated warehouse. I'll take her back @ the end of this month. Chime back then!

Well, I'm 51 and I don't feel old.  Jealous about the Celtics game though.  I've enjoyed watching Paul Pierce since he played for my alma mater - Kansas.  Looking forward to March Madness and then definitely riding weather.  I don't mind the cold, but I don't ride in the ice and snow - that is what my cage is for.

Bleys: I will not say much to you about Boston sports since I am a New York football Giants fan. There is nothing you can say on this manner for the last few seasons. You have no case. I went for a ride today and the weather was just perfect. I was riding on St. Rose Parkway from Las Vegas Blvd. to Eastern Avenue with the posted speed limit being 55. Nobody was doing this. I was in the second lane from the right. Everyone had to be doing at least 70-75mph. I know I was doing at least 65-70mph on my 125cc bike. I am sure there are worst drivers elsewhere, but here in Vegas the drivers are just nuts.

@KingKymco...Hey, I adopted the Boston area teams, as I'm originally from Kansas.  I will say that the Boston teams have done better than the Kansas City teams over the last few years.  The Royals had a better record than the Red Sox last year, but NY teams did not exactly overwhelm anyone last year either.  In fact the Patriots and Celtics had a better year than their NY counterparts.  As for hockey, the Bruins won it all 2 years ago...hasn't happened for a NY team since the Rangers in 94.
As for driving....I've driven in Vegas and the drivers there are better than Boston, NY, D.C. or even Providence, RI.  Much more polite and at least they have some idea of the traffic rules.  Out here, it is much more every man for himself.  It's not always about how fast they drive....more about the boneheaded stunts they pull.  Here people run stop signs, turn left on red lights, etc. with alarming regularity.  If it is something they shouldn't do, expect them to do it.  That' why I never go out without my armor - the roads are a battlefield here.
I would love to ride a scooter in Vegas....give me the heat, baby!!

Scooter riding season???  Isn't that all year long?  A few days ago it was 28*F on my morning commute.  Yesterday we hit a high of 75*F.  It's all good for riding

@Bleys: Your right about the Boston sports teams. As for the Superbowl, who did the Pats lose to both times? Oh yes, it just happened to be the G-Men. Of course their perfect season was not perfect since the G-Men beat them in the big game.  The Pats go the the Superbowl last year and of course they lose again to the G-Men. Eli is clutch when it comes to winning. I respect Brady. I just think sometimes him and the rest of the Pats are arrogant when it comes to the Superbowl. They feel since they are there the game should just be given to them. Well it does not work like this. The G-Men own the Pats.

Maybe the drivers in Vegas are not as crazy as they are elsewhere. I have notice they in too much of a hurry. If they would slow down then there would be less traffic fatalities. Even the casinos have opened up their pools for the Spring break and summer seasons. I will 85 with less then 10% humidity anytime.

I went for a ride the other day and checked out this new park I read about in Desert Companion magazine. This park is located in the Vegas suburb of Henderson. I was there and the views of the city are fantastic. The name of the park is Hidden Falls park. Don't ask me why. I know there are no waterfalls and this place is hidden if one is not looking for it. Of course they have a few hiking trails which was great. I was able to hike on the back side of Black Mountain. I read this is an elevation gain of around 600ft. The weather was just perfect. I love riding and checking out new places I have not been to before. 8)
