Odd question about headlights

Yesterday, I was driving to work and I noticed my low beam headlight was out (it was the reflection in a car I was behind). I switched to high beams and that worked. I drove the rest of the way in on high.
On the way home from work it was dark and with no other cars on the road I thought I would see if the low beams worked. They did.
This morning I go to work, checking the low beams and they are not working. After about 20 minutes of high beams I pull behind a truck and look at my reflection. I switch to low beams and surprise! They worked.
I checked them during lunch and guess what...no low beams.
So loose wire? Or something in the bulb itself?
I was thinking of just switching out the bulb and getting a headlight modulation unit but am unsure if that would work with the 08 Xciting model.

Sometimes the filaments can break and the light goes out. Then road vibes will "bounce" the broken ends together and "Presto!" they work for a short while only to go out again real soon. Bite the bullet and replace the bulb which I will bet you were gonna do anyway!

Happened to me.... poor contact inside the switch.... my solution was to play with the switch..hi,low,hi,low or low, pass, low, pass .... after about a week... all was normal... or if you can spray contact cleaner, that will work too...
