New Features of KymcoForum.com
« on: January 24, 2008, 10:38:19 PM »
I added a few new features to the site.

Videos:
If you see a cool video on youTube or whereever, just copy the URL and paste it in the post.  The site will automatically embed the video into the post.  You don't have to mess with the embed code.

Tagging:
When you start a new post there will be a "Tags" field below the subject.  In that field please add (if you want) some 1 or 2 word descriptions of what the post is about.  For example, if you are posting a video of a Xciting 500 you may want to use the tags "Xciting 500, Video".  When you submit the post you will see your tags at the bottom of the page.  As the site grows people can see a list of posts with similar tags and it will help them find things.  Kinda planning a head.

Hope these help make this site a better experience for you!

Thanks for the features Skadamo. You are keeping the streets safe by giving us a place to play.

Maybe a section on home made tools. there are a lot of talented people out there who could help the less talented like myself.

Just a thought for a new feature. Perhaps we can have our scoot model below our avatar so that when posting in the general or tech. sections, people will know what scoot we are asking for help with.?

I have thought several times that an Instant Messaging (IM) feature would be a great option on this forum.

I have also thought that maybe adding a column to the member's list section for location would be nice. Not everyone fills out a complete profile, but it would be nice to be able to see who else is scooting near your area and be able to PM them directly from there.

I would add a links section since you can't seem to do a regular search for "www." and all the links posted by members could be added to the links section. Maybe even separate ones for Info/Reference, Shops/Ordering, Manuals, etc. Don't know what kind of disclaimers that would require but it might save a lot of time from searching for the answer to a poster's question and leave more time for actually posting answers.
