Or you can clean, fix and use it but never claim a right of ownership to it... if asked, just say you borrowed it from the previous owner... it's not stolen as you said, right?  This way you won't have to give it to 08087...

I would use it if I could get it register and some keys. I live in pa and it needs to be register. the moped have a license plate and tags from 2010 on it now. heres a pic of it. still dusty

It came with the house. then its yours go down to the dnv and file the papper work as a lost title.
and they will make you a new one. They will ask you to  wait like 30 min then check to see if the owner called it in as stolen. If not then you got your self a fixable ride. take the vin # with ya thats all you need.........

I dont want to deal with all that hassle. anyway I could sell it for parts I guess? it still look fine but dusty.

You don't want to deal with all the hassle? You'd rather take a chance and do something illegal, right? Have you done extra efforts to contact the original owner?

Some people think its alright to commit multiple felonies, rather than do it the legal way. 5 years jail time is so much more convenient than filing for an abandoned property title which takes 30-45 minutes..

It looks like it was crashed.  They probably decided not to ride it again and then left it behind.  Should be simple to find them and officially possess the bike.  Unless you like playing dodgeball with prison soap?

You are 100% correct, do it right and move on. Reach out according to the law, make the attempt, document it and move on. Make no disclosure about the bikes current condition as you don't really know what it is.
