Cover or seat cover
« on: April 24, 2013, 09:13:04 AM »
I just bought a new cover for my GTI. I bought the one for my model w/windshield. The cover fits the scooter great IF I take the topbox off. Unfortunately if I do that, I can't carry the cover to work with me. Can anyone recommend a cover to fit with both a windshield and a topbox? If not does anyone know of just a seatcover that would fit? I just want to keep my seat dry if it rains while I'm working. I would like something simple and inexpensive.

thank you mrmike & vivo  for the idea,. I was thinking about a seat cover of milar silver,  emergence blanket, a length of elastic, and make my own cover,. it would be good for rain & the hot sun,.  as it is highly reflective,.

You are welcome! Nice idea dedee... I'm thinking of just a rectangular piece of milar silver with clips on the four corners... a simple blanket for the scoot... keeps off light rain, dust, bird droppings, tree saps away... and it will fold easy...

If you didn't get the clear plastic seat cover when you bought it, go back to the dealer and ask him to give you one.  Seems that some dealers think that cover is only for protection during shipping, and so remove and discard it during "dealer prep" assembly.

That one is certainly strong enough for at least a couple of years of use if you only need it to keep the seat dry while you're not riding it.

Nice thinking DSC! I had that when I got my scoot... used it for around a year and discarded it due to some cat scratches...  it's thick clear plastic with a good garter sewn at the edges...

Scooterworks.com has scooter cover/seat covers. I just use a cruiser-style motorcycle cover to cover windsheild/top case on my Downtown. Bought one of the Primo seat covers for sun protection on short rides, though .
