Losing our dealer in Davis, CA?
« on: May 02, 2013, 04:21:19 AM »
Was talking to Jeff at Davis Motorsports about a new tire for my bike, and he says he's not taking any more work, he's retiring, and he hopes the shop sells.  He had some interest from folks in the Bay area, but nothing certain.  My wife bought her Agility 125 from this shop, and we'd miss it if it closes.  A town that size (60k plus), and a college town at that, needs a good scooter/motorcycle shop.  I always count on Jeff for clear, no b.s. advice and I'd hate to have to spend more time in Sacramento.
Not sure what we can do about this, but maybe something...

Here's an update on the Kymco dealer situation in Davis...good news!  Former owner Jeff sold the dealership to Brian, who I had the pleasure to meet this afternoon.  He wants to up the profile of the place, and is starting out with a complete facelift (I sold him the paint)!  He said he expects to be ready for a grand opening in 60 days or so, and he's excited about the Kymco brand.  I expect this shop to be a continued focal point for scooterists in the area.  I know I'll patronize the place.

Good to here that I have to go about 45 min away befor I get to a kymco dealer. Areal kymco dealer that is. We have shops that sales kymcos but wont fix and repair theam. So the warrenty kinda sucks on that part.We have places we can order parts. Thats about it. Other wise for any major repairs its pack up the scoot and go about 45 min away.

That's good news.

I can't say enough good things about the KYMCO dealer I buy my scoots and get the service done at.  Scooter World in Overland Park is the best.  They works on all brands of scoots but sells Kymco and Genuine.  Great shop and great owner.

A good dealer that compitently services scoots is a rare thing indeed.

Don in Kansas City.
