Hi Carol, Hairy Bob here. Hope all's well over your side of the world and it's starting to warm up a bit for you. Last I heard you were shoveling snow !!  Could you please tell me, if it was your Hubby that had the problem with the air lock on the fuel tank cap, and if so what was the fix. Krisfnbs, in a one of our Venox posts may have that problem. If you can help, I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated.

just remembered about this part of vacuum lock on some models. there was info about this on pride in what you ride website. although the site is down but google still has some cashed back ups of it, so might be able to get something out of that.

the spring in the gas cap was the problem, it wasn't venting like it was supposed to.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body. But rather to skid in broadside , thoroughly used up , totally worn out and loudly proclaiming "WOW, what a ride!!"

I had a similar problem with my Venox; after purchasing it from my brother, I went over the whole bike tightening bolts and making adjustments, including re-connecting a vent hose I found under the speedometer (it was dis-connected from the small vent canister at the top of the tank under the speedo).   That's when the stalling/loss of power problems started.  My brother told me that he had dis-connected the hose and solved the vapor lock problem, but I didn't believe him (thinking that the Kymco engineers knew what they were doing).  But the engineers had over-complicated the emissions system, and taking the hose loose from the small canister actually did solve the vapor lock problem I was having.  I also replaced the air filter for good measure as well.  Try that. Maybe it will work for you.
