Exhalent99, That was a great video. Top notch.  I have to adjust mine this weekend as I have a feeling mine are a little loose from the clatter. Thanks, jeff

I beat Vivo is in his kitchen right now gathering up the butter knives and putting them up for sale on eBay for $40 a pop as a speciality tool for scooters.  ;)

I have been using them to open my old celphone and tablet...  ;)

@tclhb: You're welcome...

Stig;

I was so jazzed to do the job after I borrowed a friend of mines feeler guage that the controversy escaped my mind. It wasnt until I touched the valve cover that I realized it was warm. I thought what the hell and went for it anyway, the camera is rolling and the show must go on. I have to say again that the bike has responded very well to the warm adjustment and if there is trouble it hasnt presented in the 100kms I've driven since.

In regards to the battery terminals, I totally forgot about that, and didnt stress the importance of care when dealing with electricity.  I was careful enough not to cross the wires, or complete the circuit with myself :o  but I know that doesnt remove all the risks.

I missed the one about squirting oil, but I see it as a good idea, something for us all to remember for the future.

I have to say a licensed kymco mechanic should be able to do the whole thing in an hour, after the cooldown. I did it in just under two hours being a total noob.

TroutBum;

Indeed the gap is 0.004in (0.1mm)  Thank you for that

If Vivo does that I will help with the marketing for a cut. When you guys strike it rich, don't forget about us folks that use a butter knife for which it was designed.

Did mine! One hour and fifteen minutes. I watched the video once the day it was posted. As I worked on it today I watched a minute or so of the video, paused, then caught up. Repeat until done.
I found no particular part of the process to be difficult. To give you an idea of my mechanical ability, I'm not comfortable going much beyond an oil change on a car or cycle.

One valve the 0.004" gauge slipped in, and I could barely get the 0.005" started in. The other valve 0.004" in, 0.005" couldn't even start the edge in.
I have just over 900 miles on the bike.
Exhalent99, thank you so much for doing such a great job on this. You made the job easy!

Thanks all for your kind words, it was my pleasure.

I look forward to learning as much as I can about our great little scoot from all of you, and just maybe be able to start repaying the debt with consolidated demonstrations like this one.
I Like you.  Do you Like me?

Thank you for this great video!

One question: why do you remove the battery?

This is where you put your coffee....in that battery box. Maybe a moon pie as well.

(seriously, I did not remove my battery ---- but you probably should cover the battery so you do not drop a tool on it. The center plastic cover is easier to remove if you first remove the battery cover.)
