.....for no additional charge.  I've just read hours on this forum (so please don't think I'm lazy for asking) and I'm totally confused.  The dealer told me with the derestrictions complete I should run between 45-50.  Is that feasible?  My brother owned a Super 9 and the dealer removed some bolt or bushing when he purchased his.  They also crimped an unnecessary portion of the exhaust.  His S9 went from a top of 35 to 50mph.  My question is what should I expect the dealer to do when they are "derestricting" my new Super 8?  Is there a restrictive bolt or bushing they will remove/insert in the transmission I think?  I have read numerous places about a carburetor restriction.  What needs to take place there?  Is it just a tweak of my carb or does it require new parts (scares me because they said no charge,  I think I understand the CDI restriction and can simply disconnect the pink/purple wire if they don't.  Is stock exhaust a restriction also?  Any way to improve without new pipe.  Thanks in advance for your patience and wisdom .  Philip

You could ask them (especially their mechanic) exactly what they change to your bike during the no-cost de-restriction process. The Super 8 may or may not be restricted the same way as the older Super 9.

If they are getting your bike to 45-50 mph, then it's likely they're doing all of the possible de-restriction methods. It doesn't sound like you need a new pipe.

While your dealer is friendly try with him , i have s8 50cc 4t
and i changed the whole variator because of slow performance
now with polini variator i have better performance for 30% + 10% of cdi rpm derestriction
and i have to say its well spent moneys now i have 65 km/h (40 mph) top speed
and downhill 70km/h (43mph)
so if you want more top end you should tune it more
change the main jet size , change the pipe , the belt , and the clutch
so there is too much money and i won't ever spend that moneys
while you can sell your bike and buy 125cc if you have driving license ;)

Your super 8 will never preform as well as a water cooled Super 9. The Super 9lc scoot can make almost double the HP of a super 8 2t.  Just ask hero member Wordslinger.
